The Defence Advisers Council was founded in 2008 by five companies with extensive experience of the defence sector. DAC’s mission is to help prepare and structure companies that wish to sell their products or services into the defence sector by providing expert planning, legal and financial advice. Our aim is to:

  • Streamline companies’ provision of services and products for end-users in the armed forces
  • Make the procurement process easier to access
  • Agree contracts more swiftly
  • Ensure long term fiscal stability

Strategy Planning
Strategic planning advice and support from James Short, a retired Major General who understands the intricacies of the military procurement system, and partner Mike Teasdale who has extensive experience of supply chain logistics. AugMentor prepares companies strategically to sell into the defence sector, advising on creating clear vision, goals and product offering, and then how to “join-up” the process from planning to implementation.

Richard is the head of the Aerospace and Defence Team at VWV and has in-depth sector knowledge and experience. By applying that expertise to contract negotiations, Richard can simplify the process, save time and enable the parties to be better prepared. He will project manage the contract negotiations and assist the parties to respond positively on the real issues that need to be agreed.

A career banker, Matt is Head of the Bank’s Structured Debt team in the SME market across South West and South Wales working strategically with businesses seeking funding to support exit and succession planning, corporate acquisitions and growth capital. Matt has experience of transactions in the aerospace and defence sector and an in depth understanding of some of the key commercial drivers, such as SC21 and Lean Manufacturing programmes, that sustain future performance.
